What would we like to hear about South Korea’s built environment achievements today ? What can we learn from its ability to absorb Global North models and customs, integrating Western soft power into new energies that demonstrate alternative approaches ? Do we expect Korea to continue to ‘cope with Western mechanisms’ or to revitalise its indigenous humanities and engineering ? And is there something unexpected that only Koreans can explain to us ? Its current maturity enables us to think beyond more intimate and singular constructs.
Within the grounded community Dosigsgga, in Anyang, we will explore various ways of advocating for innovative and sometimes, uneasy to grasp, ways of existing in present-day Korea.
